At least six people died and one was injured when a car collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction in India’s central state of Madhya Pradesh, local police confirmed on Monday.
The accident took place in the state’s Sagar district on Sunday night. All the deceased belonged to the same family.
The lone person who sustained injuries was admitted to a local hospital, said the police.
Giving further details, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Tiwari said that the impact of the accident was such that the car was badly mangled. “We are trying to ascertain the identities of the deceased,” he added.
The ill-fated car was going towards Sagar from Damoh area, while the truck was coming from Gadhakota area.
