India’s 3rd Moon Mission Undergoes Orbit Reduction Maneuver

The spacecraft carrying India’s Moon Mission-3 successfully underwent the planned orbit reduction maneuver, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said late Sunday night.

The operation was accomplished at around 11:00 p.m. local time on Sunday.

The next operation to further reduce the orbit is scheduled for Aug. 9, tweeted the ISRO.

The spacecraft carrying the Moon Mission-3 is expected to land on the lunar surface on Aug. 23.
