Uttar Pradesh: Noida Hospital Gets First Ever Dedicated Inquiry Section for Transgenders

Noida’s district hospital has begun a dedicated registration and pharmacy counter for patients of the transgender community. The latest initiative includes a different registration counter that gathers data about transgender patients, while a committed pharmacy counters medication prescriptions recommended by doctors.

Dr. Renu Aggarwal, the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, explained that the inspiration driving this work originated from complaints received from members of the transgender community, according to India Today. These people communicated concerns in regard to discrimination and ill-treatment during the registration process at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of the hospital.

In light of these complaints, a particular enrollment and drug store counter solely for transgender people was introduced under Dr. Aggarwal’s course. She communicated her idealism that this new methodology would prompt an expansion in the number of transgender patients looking for care at the Noida district hospital, resolving the recent concern of low enrollment from this local area at the OPD.

Reena, who went with her mother for treatment, shared her thoughts on the drive, expressing, “I’ve seen the out-of-line treatment and inclination that transgenders frequently face. T his specific counter will without a doubt furnish them with much-needed help.”
