3 Buried Following Land Subsidence in Eastern India

Three women were buried in a crater following a land subsidence in India’s eastern state of Jharkhand, officials said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday, as the three local women were caught in the subsidence after a portion of land caved inside Gondudih colliery of Danbad district, about 165 km northeast of Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand.

Authorities have launched a search and rescue operation at the spot to trace the three women.
