Chandrababu Naidu’s Son Called For Questioning in Road Scam Case

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh on Saturday was asked to appear for questioning by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in relation to the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) scam case on October 4 at 10 am.

The Andhra Pradesh CID has named Lokesh as the 14th accused in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) alignment case.

The CID officials delivered the notice at the residence of TDP MP Galla Jayadev. After receiving the notice, Nara Lokesh and his supporters staged a protest at Galla Jayadev’s residence.

In its notice to Nara Lokesh, the Andhra Pradesh CID said it has “reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances from you, in relation to the present investigation”.

Nara Lokesh has been asked to produce bank account details of M/s Heritage Foods Ltd, details of the board meetings and payment details related to the land transactions.

The notice further said that failure to comply with its terms can lead to his arrest.

The TDP leader recently met President Droupadi Murmu and requested her to intervene in the “illegal” arrest of his father and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, in an alleged fraud case.

Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on September 9 in an alleged scam involving the state’s Skill Development Corporation. The Andhra Pradesh CID has accused Naidu of being the “principal conspirator” in the scam, which is estimated to have cost the state government Rs 371 crore.
