Andhra Family Found Dead in Varanasi Ashram, Suicide Note Recovered

Four members of a family from Andhra Pradesh were found in an ashram in Varanasi on Thursday. According to the police, the family allegedly died of suicide over suspected financial issues.

The family had arrived in Varanasi on December 3 as part of a spiritual journey. They were scheduled to return home on the morning of December 7. However, when there was no sign of activity from their room by the evening, concerns were raised.

They were found dead after the door to their room was forcibly opened in the presence of police officials.

The husband, wife and their two sons hailed from the Manda Peta region of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.

A suicide note, written in Telugu, was discovered by the police. The note indicated that the husband was in a financial dispute with someone from his workplace in Andhra Pradesh, the police said.

“Four of them were from the same family belonging to Andhra Pradesh and were staying in an ashram here (Varanasi). Through the suicide note, we can figure out that there were some financial issues,” a police official said.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
